Infants born on or after February 1, 2025, and expectant mothers who live in the city of Kalamazoo are eligible to apply. Application opens in mid-February. Please check back for more details.

Resource First is a program within the Cradle Kalamazoo network that provides direct connection to home visiting, doula, and other programs essential to birthing families. Additionally, Resource First provides emergency resources to those families who enroll in the program.

Kalamazoo County Health and Community Services offers low or no-cost immunizations, family planning, lead screening, WIC nutrition services, and more.

211 is available 24/7/365 by phone, text, or chat to assist with connecting you with services in the community. We maintain a database of over 800 agencies in the community who can assist with services such as food pantries, utility assistance, and more.

ISK provides an array of services for individuals, youth, and families who need help with mental illness, developmental disabilities, emotional difficulties, or substance use issues. General information can be found on the website. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, you can call 9-8-8 or visit the Behavioral Health Urgent Care & Access Center at 440 W. Kalamazoo Ave. 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.

The YWCA’s Caring for Victims of Abuse program provides several services to residents of Kalamazoo County who are (or have) experienced domestic violence. These services include emergency shelter, legal services, advocacy, and more.
