Infants born on or after November 1, 2025, and expectant mothers who live in the City of Inkster are eligible to apply. Upon verification, moms receive $1,500 during pregnancy and babies receive $500 a month for 6 months after birth.

The Women, Infants, & Children (WIC) program is a supplemental nutrition program for pregnant and postpartum women, infants, and kids up to five years old who are income eligible. The WIC program provides healthy food, nutrition education and individualized nutrition counseling, breastfeeding support, and health care referrals.
The Maternal Infant Health Program (MIHP) is the largest home visiting program in Michigan serving pregnant women and infants up to the age of 12-18 months who are enrolled in Medicaid. Mama and Me serves families by providing education and support with the goal of our families having healthy pregnancies, good birth outcomes, and healthy infants. Care is provided via in-home or telehealth visits from a nurse or social worker.
