It’s time we celebrate and showcase the lives of healthy kids
Celebrate the fact that what we once imagined has actually happened before our eyes
Our vision comes full circle
Our mission made manifest
The success of Rx Kids and all of its accomplishments
And must I add, with pride,
that Flint has the first community-wide cash prescription program in the United States
See, Flint, is a place of resilience
Flint is a place where the people matter
An unconditional offering
A call to strengthen family financial stability during pregnancy and early infancy
Rx Kids is an opportunity
Rx Kids is an opportunity to reduce pressure and stress and just allow a mother a moment to smile
To bask in the blessing of childbirth
To measure her worth
In first breaths
First steps
First laughs
First words
And to receive what every mother deserves
Trust
And to feel valued
Empowered
Respected
Loved
And the dignity to receive support without judgment
So Rx Kids is a program that creates high levels of hopefulness
Cultivates confidence
And removes barriers to care
And it’s fair to say that Rx Kids is reaching families in a scale and depth that’s rare
Yet simple
Efficient
And family-centered
And since its inception, the intention was to be a blessing
And our purpose did not pivot
Trust me, we get it
We still see you, hear you, love you
Flint, we get it
The dreamers join forces
Shared resources
And of course there is always room for expansion and improvement
But let’s first tip our hats to the fact that Flint started a movement

A prescription for health, hope, and opportunity
